Architect: Work experience at PDP Group
Client: Fishron Ltd
Project Status: Planning Permission Granted
Proposed hotel accommodates 138 bedrooms, a bar, restaurant and kitchen, all supported with ancillary and administrative rooms. The client’s brief was to deliver the design to meet the budget and requirement of 2 star hotel operator, and secure planning permission for this prime location in Basingstoke. There are four main elements to the hotel: Public Areas, Bedroom Block, Vertical Circulation Towers, and Roof Plant. The public areas are located on the ground floor, and large glazing to the hotel’s foyer and the restaurant addresses the public realm. The bedroom block spans between two tower cores. The hotel’s northern tower is the primary public vertical circulation; the southern tower provides a secondary means of escape.
